Learn more about some of our Clients and
their Adventures over the past few seasons!
"Stampeder" (J/111-65) hit the road in December for her new home in Long Beach, CA.
She spent her first two summers racing out of Chester, NS.
Her new owners & crew(shown right) were looking for a near new J/111 they could go sailing on without waiting on a new build. She's now called "Stampede" and was racing in January on the west coast.
KEY WEST, Charleston & Chester RW
"Dog Party", our first J/88 delivery will be doing Key West, Charleston Race Week done south before returning to home waters in Charlottetown, PEI.
Her crew is well known for their performances in the local J/29 fleet but wanted the latest fun ride.
She is the first of several J/88's coming to local waters for 2014.
"Resolution" heads east
"Resolution", a Nordhavn 46 headed off to Long Pond, NL in early October.
Like all Nordhavn's she is built for big water and her new home near RNYC provides lots of same. She'll cruise the northern side of Newfoundland the summer of 2014.
Her former owner brought her transAtlantic a few years back and cruised from the islands to Nova Scotia during his ownership.
Coming Home to St.Margaret's Bay
"L'Chayim" is (ex-Shivers, RKYC) is back in St.Margaret's Bay after a two year hiatus in Saint John, NB.
She is a rare Nautilus 11m that has spent almost her whole life sailing out of RNSYS & St.Margaret's Bay.
Her new owners were looking for a pilothouse sloop and knew her for years - almost as soon as she came to market, they knew she'd be coming home with them.
SO MUCH FUN at over 14Knots!
Our second J/70 delivery(this owner also has a J/22) couldn't be to a better sailor.
This couple sail their J/22 competitively but also wanted to jump into the "next" thing.
Hull #376 - launched at RNSYS 14 months after we launched hull #8 at LYC.
The J/70 class growth has been phenomenal - and with great reason - she is a facility free launch and go sailing design that can be raced with a crew of 3 or 4!
Long time owners of a Bayliner 3788 wanted to step up a bit and modernize their ride.
We sourced a near new Meridian 391 equipped with bow & stern thrusters in Maryland and had her professionally delivered.
The 391 is now home in St.Margaret's Bay and will cruise between Halifax and Lunenburg regularly.
Back Cove 30 Cruises Chester
"Sea Rover" is a new Back Cove 30 that is berthed in the Back Harbour in Chester.
She is equipped with an electronic Yanmar 320hp V8 diesel providing speeds to 29.8knots!

Hunter 380 - Virginia to NS
The owners of this Hunter looked at a new Jeanneau, sailed with a friend on a Hunter 340 and looked at some other Hunters before settling in on this Norfolk based 380.
Its their first boat and purchased on the basis of the 340's owners recommendation.
Sailing friends can be a big help when deciding what might work and what doesn't.
This 380 sails out of St.Margaret's Bay.
Hunter 386 LE - RI to NS
With some research, we located a gorgeous pre owned Hunter 386 for a client here in NS.
Our clients cruised New England and then we trucked her home for re assembly and a summer of sailing in Chester.
Sometimes we have professional delivery crews bring boats home and sometimes we truck - always a function of what suits our clients needs best.
Contact us and let us bring your new to you boat home to Atlantic Canada.
A Pocket Cruiser Comes Home
Not all the boats we buy for clients are big - we source boats specific to our clients needs and wants from all over North America.
We located a Pacific Seacraft 24 Dana in Rockhall, MD and had her brought to Chester.
Her owners wanted a safe, stable, solid cruiser that was easy to handle in marinas and strong enough to go anywhere.
Join us in welcoming "Landfall" to the waters of Mahone Bay.
One INCREDIBLE WEEK - the NEW J/88
Being a new J/Boat dealer is always exciting! The models we have sold range from the J/22 all the way to the J/160 over the years.
We also get to preview new boats a few weeks before they hit the public forum.
In early February we received the deign brief for the new J/88 - a 29' family speedster.
Inside of a week, we had sold two and ordered one for ourselves! Our first J/88 will go to Key West in January 2014.
Hunter 41AC Coming to Halifax
Being a multi-line new boat dealer allows us to build relationships across the continent.
It also allows us to be well versed in the value of many different boats as they compare to replacement costs.
The owners of this "new to them" Hunter 41AC are excited about their off season purchase and sailing her home this spring.
She is designed to to be easy to singleand with furling main & jib as welll as comfortable offshore or for a cruising vacation. We look forward to her arrival in a few months.

She is currently at the Morris yard in Maine and she will be commissioned in Chester in late April.
Her North Sails inventory will allow occasional club racing and super easy single handed sailing.
She is designed to look after a couple in extreme comfort.
Look for this eye catching beauty to be a part of the CYC waterfront.
"Bellatrix" heading for waters near Boston
The Swan 48-2 "Bellatrix" has graced the Chester waterfront since 2006, her mooring just off the ferry dock, near the Rope Loft.
Her new owners wanted a thoroughbred offshore capable sailboat and "Bellatrix" is a well proven design.
The two head, three stateroom Swan will be launched in Chester in April and will sail to her new home near Boston in early May.
First Jeanneau Sale!
We were pleased to be appointed the Atlantic Canadian Jeanneau dealer in early summer.
We are even more pleased to announce the sale of a Jeanneau 409 to a local couple.
The two head, two stateroom boat will be equipped to offshore race(Marblehead is on the "list") and weekend cruise.
We've done some very neat custom upgrades for her owner's including adding a racing Harken forestay, North dual purpose sail inventory and a wifi enabled electronic package.
We will be test sailing her in May 2013.
Famous Lady Heads South
"Silver Shadow" was hull #1 of the "then" Custom C&C 44's - her recent owner renamed her "Shadow in Indigo" and added a two stateroom interior.
For several seasons she was raced out of RNYC on the waters of Conception Bay South, NL.
Her newest owner hails from Colorado and intends to do fast offshore passages with her.
Its fun to meet a couple who are enjoying an early retirement and who decide to take the plunge and go sailing.
We delivered a brand new Hunter 33 in August after commissioning her at South Shore Marine
The new owners are sailing in Nova Scotia and enjoying all kinds of cool features including wi-fi plotter and digital radar. Two showers plus both a microwave and a propane over and two separate staterooms plus furling main & jib.
They like her so much, they have offered to let us take her for test sails!
Another Blue Boat!
We welcome "Regatta" to RNYC near St.John's, NL - she is a 2007 Sabre 52.
Our owner was looking for a comfortable day boat to take his kids and grandkids to beaches and coves around the island.
He also wanted a boat to comfortably cruise with another couple and that was easy to handle.
Equipped with bow and stern thrusters, plus two staterooms with ensuite heads both with separate shower stalls, this 55,000lb American modern classic fit the profile to a "T".
Maybe we can find something to fit your dream?
From a Sailor to a Powerboater
We love the Back Cove 37 - its finish is second to none, its low maintenance and its a fun boat to operate.
We were pleased to take a 2010 Beneteau 34 in trade on our 2010 Back Cove 37 and get this family going fast!
Cruising @20knots opened up more destinations with limited boating time.
Equipped with a 480hp Cummins and twin thrusters she's a breeze to handle around the marinas.
"A Cool Change" cruises between metro NS and the South Shore this season.
Returning to the sailboat racing arena after 25 years - this J/111 filled the void for speed, fun and simplicity for her new owners.
"Stampeder" is the 5th J/111 we have delivered. She was commissioned at South Shore Marine.
She features a carbon Hall mast, North Sails, TackTick instrumentation and a very cool carbon wheel.
The J/111 has been the sportboat of choice worldwide with race course success in both buoy and distance racing.
Newer & a Bit Bigger!
Back in 2000 clients of ours bought a Catalina 28 as their first boat - they love to daysail around Mahone Bay. After a dozen years they decided they wanted something a little newer but not too much bigger.
We spent from August 2011 until January 2012 sorting out the brokerage and new possibilities and came to our conclusion.
The LYC based sailors have just taken delivery of a near new Catalina 309 which we trucked home in February from Florida.
Feel free to tell about about your dream boat and we'll be pleased to help identify and coordinate the delivery of your new or new to you boat.
Rare Nautilus 11m Sale
Only 5 of these gorgeous pilothouse boats were built.
This is the third time we have worked with Nautilus 11m buyers/sellers and we remain very impressed by the boat.
Built by Aztec Yachts using the lines from a C&C 37, she offers a cruising couple incredible speed yet a comfortable indoor helm.
She's sailing this season in New Brunswick before her owners point her south.
Another J/120 for Nova Scotia
We are pleased to announce the sale of another J/120 to a local sailor. He's been a J/105 sailor for a few seasons so this boat is going to offer him more headroom, more speed but very simple boat handling.
She'll arrive at South Shore Marine mid May for a fresh coat of VC17 before splashing in Marriotts Cove.
We're happy to see another J/120 join the local racing scene.
This is the 3rd boat we've worked on with this owner - we can't wait to see him cruising along at 8 + knots!
If you want to chat about J/Boats - call us - we have delivered and commissioned a number of models in the last 14 years!
There's a new BABE in C'town
We are pleased to announce the sale of Bob Johnstone's personal J/100 "Tern" to the Bethune family of Charlottetown.
The Bethune's J/100 will sail from CYC as "Babe". Pre launch you'll find her located on her brand new custom fitted Triad trailer.
For those looking for boats not on the market...call us, this particular J/100 was purchased through us but not listed publicly. Maybe we can find you a special boat?
OverSIZED LOAD? Another J/100 Comes East
"Hobgoblin" has just arrived in Nova Scotia after spending her years sailing the waters near Milwaukee, WI.
We bought her in December 2010, ordered a Triad trailer plus a custom hull deck cover.
The J/100 has a carbon rig and an awesome daysailing cockpit.
HOT in the DEEP SOUTH
Clients of ours from DYC are in Florida waters getting their "new to them" Med Marine 43 ready to sail north.
This couple normally sails in the colder Atlantic Canadian waters about 1100nm a season.
Working with the couple since August of 2010, we ultimately secured a cruising sailboat for their long range plans with the cooperative efforts of Andy at Ross Yacht Sales.
Dave & Theresa will in home waters by late June.
TWO J/111's on the RIVER
Two clients of ours from YCQ in Quebec City took delivery this May of their new J/111's.
Marcel returns after two decades away with an inventory from North and a full Raymarine ST70 system. Carl traded his late model Beneteau 36.7 in for more speed and added a carbon wheel coupled with a TackTick system.
On his first sail with his sailmaker aboard, Carl reported speeds of 13knots under reefed main and #3.
We're back in June to speed test Marcel's new ride.
Clients of ours from Shad Bay came to us about 10 months ago with some ideas about what would consitute their "dream boat". Over the fall and winter we worked through a variety of possible boats.
A few months back we found this Monk 36 listed with Ontario broker Rocco Barca.
Working with the Rocco we were able to have the boat surveyed and mechanically proven to the buyer's satisfaction.
Look for Paul & Patricia onboard their dream boat this summer.
Fastest J/BOAT Yet!
"Warlock" cruises downwind at RNYC's Race Week in August.
Last fall the owners of "Warlock" brought their J/120 "Merlin" back to us after three fun filled seasons following five seasons in their J/35 "Evolution".
They've gone from PHRF 72 to 54 to 39 and has watched the fun meter numbers continue to rise. Their top speed in local waters thus far has just been under 16 knots.
"Warlock" sails from the Royal Newfoundland Yacht Club on Conception Bay South, Newfoundland - she features a Waterline bottom and full North inventory.
West Coast Purchase for World Cruise
We get to meet a lot of fun families who come to us in the midst of fulfilling their dreams.
In early December we helped buy a Stevens 47 in the state of Washington for a Nova Scotia family.
They are going to move onboard when school ends in June 2012 and then sail down the coast toward Mexico and warmer water.
The kids are still in elementary school so this will be a BIG family adventure for them and Mom & Dad.
Its fun to have a couple of sailors decide in the midst of Christmas shopping chaos to "slow down and buy a boat".
The brand new, Hunter 33 we received in November is one such Christmas present.
The new owners moved up 5' and 32 years from their 28'er and are quite excited about all the new amenities. Two showers plus both a microwave and a propane over and two separate staterooms plus furling main & jib.
Once she's named we'll let you know!
Warm Waters, Then Cool Waters
In the warmth of the deep south, we helped a client of ours upgrade from his 44'er to this "new to him" Tayana 55. We look forward to seeing her berthed at RNYC this summer. She'll be proudly flying both the Canadian and Newfoundland flags when she heads north in the few months to the cooler waters of Conception Bay South.
A Christmas Present and a Birthday Present
Our clients just took possession of a beautifully kept, low hours Beneteau 331 - to followup the dozen plus years of sailing their trusty Nonsuch 26.
Its been about an 18 month search for the right boat and the right deal - this boat is a 2004 but had a mere 64 hours on the engine.
We were happy to help present the purchase agreement, secure a surveyor, organize the title documents, arrange for pack, load and transport along with importation into Canada.
We're happy to assist our clients find whats "right for them" no matter where the boat is or the obstacles that may initially appear.
We enjoy the challenge and we know our clients enjoy their boats - this 331 is like new and we're pleased that our clients are pleased!
Simple, Fast, Fun - a NEW J/80
Last winter we met with a couple who were looking for a fun boat to go sailing on; their reference point was his dad's C&C 32 from the 1980's.
So we did some market research, looking at a number of options. "Newer" C&C 27's (built in the late 1980's) were one of the options.
Then one day they called and I heard about her trip to a J/World sailing school - she had so much fun that it was decided - a NEW J/80 was to be their boat. And so we bought one of the J/80 Worlds boats and had Waterline Systems dress it up a bit before bringing her home.
They were so excited about the boat that we bought one too!
A Jewel from Wisconsin
We'll go halfway across the continent, across the border to find the right boat for our clients. This Dana 24 is a late model, loaded with options in near new condition. Look for her to ply the waters off of Chester this summer.
Blue Hulls are Beautiful
This Marlow 78 Explorer finished in flag blue represents the 5th motoryacht we've help buy &/or sell for her new owners. A three stateroom, long range motoryacht, the Marlow 78 Explorer will easily cruise over 20knots and top out just under 30knots.
She represents the second Marlow for the owners which speaks volumes about the quality and sea keeping ability of the design.
Over the summer of 2010 she'll cruise from Florida into Canadian waters, exploring the eastern seaboard both northward and again in the fall going south.
Back Cove #2? A new 37
Its quite a compliment to a builder (and to their dealer) when after two years of enjoying a Back Cove 33, we get the opportunity to build and deliver a new Back Cove 37.
The new 2010 Back Cove 37 Leeward Days replaces her 2008 Back Cove 33 sister this summer and is touring from Halifax to Lunenburg most weekends. She is equipped with bow & stern thrusters, a Cummins 480hp engine, touch screen nav system, genset & dual air/heat system. With her cherry interior and two private cabins, she's a great family boat!
Go ahead - Cross....
A couple seasons after taking delivery of their new C&C 99, the Shands still enjoy the upwind speed and sheer fun their boat brings them.
"Prospector" sails on the Northumberland Strait and races and cruises between the marinas and clubs that dot the coastline. With her cherry interior and two private cabins, she's a great dual purpose sailboat!
The expression "time flies" has become more common than not in our office. Our owners(also our friends) buy boats and disappear and then re-appear....usually years later - which always surprises us.
Thirteen years ago we sold an Irwin 32 for the owners of this Gozzard 36. We bought the G36 in the Lakes for them(they live in MI but have roots in NS) and poof they vanished.
A family reunion returned them and their "new" boat to us - after a bunch of happy winters cruising the islands. Welcome back to Chester!
Chester Race Week Champ - Again
The beauty of a J/120 is that is not only a comfortable sailboat, both in the sailing sense and the cruising sense; but its also a boat that is timeless on the race course.
This year, in sub 12 knot breezes, "Brillance" sailed by the Calder family repreated a Chester Race Week win with three 1st's and a 5th (their drop race) to win the Alpha Distance Class.
Delivered in 2001, this J/120 is powered by North Sails and a crew of family and friends. Move over rock stars!
TEXAS BORN - The Valiant 42
Offshore strength, long distance capable. We were asked by a couple who have trans ocean experience to find them a bigger, newer boat.
We travelled to Texas for the buyers and secured a 2003 Valiant 42 that will over winter in NS prior to setting sail for points further east. Watch for Chilkoot sailing into a harbour along the east coast in 2011.
Cruising South from MD to FL
Over the course of three months we worked with a summer resident of Chester who winters and works in Florida to find the "right boat".
He wanted like new, in great shape at a great value. Over the last few weeks we worked with him to buy the 2005 C&C 110 Playmobil in Annapolis, MD. This C&C 110 is completely equipped to cruise in luxury.
As the owner and crew head south you can follow their adventures down the ICW to Florida.
Its the first adventure of its kind for the owner and it demonstrates how a little planning can turn into a cruise of a lifetime.
Enroute to Key West
Two of the crew of Poohsticks from LYC, leave Nova Scotia with the J92 in tow for the road trip to Key West Race Week in Florida. There was some snow along the way.
The Poohsticks Crew in Key West
Where else could seven sailors from Nova Scotia dress this loudly in January?...only in Key West. The J92 heads into her 14th season under current ownership. She has fulfilled the roles of daysailor, club racer, regional racer and international racer for this family and continues to put smiles on the faces of those who spend time aboard.
Marblehead to Halifax
Two of the crew of Bellatrix, a Swan 48-2 from CYC, fold the light #1 genoa as the light air spinnaker hangs in front of them. The electronic compass shows the boat heading for the finish line as the sun sets. Ten nautical miles later, and 7.5 hours of elapsed race time, the boat would finish. This year's race proved to be one of the slowest in history with a 48hr extension granted to sailors not finished the 360nm race by noon on Thursday. Despite racing at speeds just over one knot by times, the crew of Bellatrix (hailing from SMSC, CYC & LYC) had a great time!
Boat Number FIVE
This Beneteau 445 "Daybreak" represents the fifth boat this family has purchased from us.
She has had extensive upgrading under her new owners prior to returning from Saint John, NB to sail the the waters of Mahone Bay.
"Daybreak" features a triple cabin layout with multiple heads(a must when cruising with teenagers!) and is usually seen anchored near Round Island in Mahone Bay most weekends during the sailing season.
A Long Term Relationship
Over the years we've been lucky to have long term relationships with our clients. We work hard to maintain our friendships all over the continent, knowing that the boating lifestyle is a community that we also enjoy. For one such client we have been involved with over 250' of motoryacht deals in the past ten years. The most recent being the purchase of a 65' Marlow. No deal is too big or too small...we enjoy the challenge of finding the right boat for every family.
A Long Distance Deal
Congrats to the new owners of "Work Release" a 2006 C&C 99 we brokered for a Maryland seller. In this day of internet deals, we were contacted by the seller a few years ago on one of our demos. He decided to buy new at the time from the local dealer. But he had so much fun with us that when it came time to sell, he offered us the job. "Work Release" is travelling to central Canada on her new custom trailer. We enjoy the challenges of coordinating long distance deals...this deal was brokered in Nova Scotia with a seller in Maryland and a buyer in Quebec.
Congrats to the new owners of "Leeward Day" a brand new 2008 Back Cove 33, summering here in Chester. The owners decided it was time to treat themselves. They traded in their very reliable cape boat and are now enjoying their new boat. The 33 has a standard bow thruster and is equipped w/air/heat along with dual fridges, ultrasuede below complementing the cherry interior and a full Raymarine system on deck.
Waiting for the Breeze...
Congrats to the owners of "Prospector" a brand new 2008 C&C 99, finishing a respectable 3rd in class in their first ever "race week". The owners moved up from their reliable C&C 25Mk1 last season and are now enjoying cruising and racing their new boat. The 99 has a standard carbon rig, epoxy hull, self tailing Harken winches and is equipped w/North Sails along with a fridge, propane stove and microwave below complementing the cherry interior plus an integrated Raymarine sailing/nav system on deck.
Point Her Northeast!
Congrats to the owners of the 1996 Island Packet 40. The owners are sailing her home from Florida along the US east coast, then into Nova Scotia. From here, she'll continue northeast to her homeport of Fortune, Newfoundland. The IP40 will be cruising the coasts of Newfoundland and Labrador over the next few seasons.
Another successful delivery! This Princess 35 is shown arriving in St.Pierre after a 4 day passage from Shediac, NB. As part of the sale process we provided translation services for the english seller and the french buyer. In addition,we sourced a delivery crew for the new owner.
Prince of Wales Winner!Congrats to the crew of Koobalibra and her owner Dave Barlow on winning the prestigious Prince of Wales Trophy at RNSYS on Sept 1st, 2007."Koob" is a North Sails equipped 2007 C&C 115 which was launched this spring. She's had a great summer, finishing 3rd in class in the 360nm ocean race from Marblehead to Halifax.
Shown during Chester Race Week 2007
Over the winter of 06-07, this Swan 48-2 has received the full makeover including hull & rig repainting, deck detailing, mechanical inspections, new electric winches, new canvas, new sails, new electronics and new fabrics below.
In short,we're working to make her into a new boat for her owners to enjoy.
Brilliance Wins Gold at Chester Race Week
Richard & Sharon Calder's J120 "Brilliance" finished a successful Chester Race Week by winning the Gold Fleet. The crew sailed a consistent regatta in weather that ranged from light, fluky winds with great sun to high winds combined with driving rain over the four day event. The Gold Fleet sailed two distance races and two windward leeward courses. Some of her competitors included a Swan 48-2 & 51, an Aerodyne 38, a J44. Chester to Quebec City, July 2006
A great trip for the owner and his friends from Chester, NS along the coast and west into the St.Lawrence River to Quebec.
This Nauticat 32 was a desireable choice for short handed cruising with her twin steering stations.
We helped the owner with some additions including charts, an inflatable, a sock for his spinnaker and a new liferaft. Our local mobile rigger also updated some running rigging.
"Nereide" will be cruising from her homeport throughout the St.Lawrence in summers to come.
Making Her Even Better!
Privateer, a Swan 48 will become Bellatrix by
spring 2007.Just as we've done for these owners before...using local talents to transform the white JGalt into the black Katana.Look for Bellatrix at her coming out race...the 2007 Marblehead to Halifax and she'll cruise until the 2007 Chester Race Week series.Next time you see her, she'll be flag blue!
Coast to Coast! Our Freedom 39 Pilothouse left Chester early October 06 after sailing in the Atlantic waters surrounding Nova Scotia for over a decade.
Splashdown in the Pacific!
Before the month ended, she was splashed in the Pacific!
"Spartan" now calls "The Dalles,OR" as her homeport.
Potential sellers and buyers ask us "Can you really sell/buy a boat that far away?"We had a Chester, NS based sailor who inherited a Westerly Pembroke 26' sailboat located in Rio Dulce, Guatemala. He sailed her for a month twice but decided she should be sold to someone to use her more often. In the spring of 2006 we listed her and by late summer we had an accepted offer. The buyer was from Minnesota! He's still enjoying her in the Rio Dulce after purchasing her in November, 2006.
Sailing in her sixth season, is the J/160 "Excalibur".She's finished and WON her first Halifax to St.Pierre Ocean Race and also completed her third Newport to Bermuda Race...one of the slowest ever - but during Sunday's Gulfstream ride saw knotmeter speeds of 17.25 w/ GPS showing over 21knots SOG!In 2001 she won the PHRF Racing Division in the Marblehead to Halifax Race. She also was top Canadian yacht and member of both the winning Interclub & International Teams. She also competed in the light & foggy & cold 2003 Marblehead-Halifax race. In 2000, 2002 and 2004 she raced in the 630mile Newport-Bermuda Ocean Race.
"Excalibur" is a deep keel version of the J/160 design. She features a Carbon Hall rig, Quantum racing and cruising sails and Ockam/Simrad electronics.
Equipped by the owner for distance racing and cruising she features a Spectra watermaker and five 12v batteries.

Spring 2005 in Chester, NS aboard the freshly refitted 2003 J145 KATANA. The owners have totally transformed her from a speedy cruiser into an ocean racer.
Her refit this winter included a full awlgrip job on hull & spars, new B&G 40/40's and additional 20/20's plus a full inventory of grand prix North 3DL's and Airex spinnakers.
She was the first Canadian yacht to finish this year's Marblehead to Halifax distance race, finishing 3rd in the IRC class and won the Sunnybrook Yachts Offshore Challenge Cup.
A lot of our clients like flag blue boats! This 2005 J133 replaces a series of mid forty footers for a client of ours who only day races. She's equipped w/a Hall carbon rig, Ockam instruments & UK Diamond Drive inventory.
A two-year trip collecting digital video for TheCruisingDVDs.com by the local Summers family from NS.
- They enjoyed a Fountaine Pajot 39 cat in year one and for year two a Beneteau 405 tri-cabin.
- The owners are from St. Margaret's Bay, NS, and in the second year sailed the Beneteau 405 as far south as St. Barts and St. Martin.
- The Beneteau 405 went to Annapolis MD for hurricane season in the summer of 2004, and was sold there by Sunnybrook.
- This was a family expedition, in which the two boys gained some life experiences, and all enjoyed having a chance to compare the speed, handling and roominess on the two different kinds of boats.
The very speedy J145 like many of her sisters offers luxury below and simple handling for both a couple who want to sail fast and owners who want to race offshore. This J145 will undergo a full transformation under the supervision of the Sunnybrook Yachts from offshore cruiser to offshore racer including new awlgrip, sails and electronics.
Two local J/92's competing at Chester Race Week
To windward is "Poohsticks" purchased by her current owners in 1996 from North Carolina. The owners moved up from a Pearson 27 and purchased the J/92 as a "ten year boat".
To leeward is "Storm Front" purchased by her current owners in 2001 from Kentucky. These owners use the J/92 as a club racer when not sailing their J/160.
On her way north in 2003!
Strawberry Roan II(ex-Quest) sailed her from Chester, Nova Scotia to Lewisporte, Newfoundland.
Her new owners purchased her for quick ocean cruising.
This C&C 41 has a complete racing inventory plus full cruising gear including furnace, battcars, furling, liferaft, dodger and more.

This is how big a grin sailors get at 11 Knots under control on their new J/120's!We've seen a number of big grins locally!
Smiles start on the J/80's owner's faces, as well as the J/92's owner's, and there's the J/105 sailors, onto the J/120's, the J/130, the J/46 and J/160 - all these owner's have the same thing in common - a great big grin!
One of the longest cruises north this summer of 2002 was by the new owners of a Beneteau 42s7 "Monet" from St.Martin 3400nm north via the US eastern seaboard to St.Margaret's Bay, NS.
The Moores spent almost four months cruising home, being joined by friends and family along the way.
She'll be a familar site around SMSC in the summers to come.
The 2001 J/120 "Brillance" sailed in her first regatta at Chester Race Week'01 and won one of the Premier races.
The striking thing about sailing a J/120 is how easy it is to sail fast.
On one of the first test sails with only a crew of five, "Brillance" acheived over 10 knots of speed with ease.
Built for quick getaways and occassional racing, look for "Brillance" gracing the waters from the Bras d'or Lakes to Mahone Bay.
Longest cruise west during 2001 was by a Sabreline 43 "Sapphire" from Lunenburg,NS thru NY & up the Hudson River and then thru all four Great Lakes to Wisconsin.
Our new owner spent 14 days cruising w/our captain & crew - enjoying the trip of a lifetime.
Best post closing dinner for 2001 was aboard the Little Harbour 38 "Rosebud" involving a large pot of boiled Maine lobsters prior to her sail home to Halifax, NS.
One of the prettiest classics we now find gracing Halifax harbour, Rosebud has some wonderful updates.
The furling mast has the new Doyle "Swing-batten" mainsail and new furling genoa.
Belowdecks she's finished in white w/teak trim.
The ever popular Sabreline 47 - we've enjoyed being a part of the process of building and delivering these finely crafted, handsome and practical Sabrelines.New 47's are now available w/up to 1320hp(twin Yanmar 660's) - a rare trawler like cruiser w/get home quick speeds of 30 knots!
